El Rodeo students had a chance to experience just what a 9.5 magnitude earthquake could feel like yesterday, when a $2 million “Quake Cottage” spent the day on the K-8 campus offering some 700 youngsters the opportunity to experience the simulation.
“There’s nothing more important than real life experiences and the reality of sitting in that simulator was shocking, and it was only a 6.8,” said Board of Education member Lisa Korbatov. “I’m so grateful our kids are in portables now and out of harm’s way and we’re moving forward with modernization.
