Tyler Perry’s New Madea Halloween Film Tops Weekend Box Office

“Tyler Perry’s Boo 2! A Madea Halloween” debuted with $21.7 million in ticket sales, and was on track to be the most-popular movie in North America this weekend.

The comedy has the same popular characters from the continuing Tyler Perry juggernaut of comedies, who this time venture to a haunted campground where hilarity ensures.

“Geostorm” opened with a $13.3 million weekend.

And “Happy Death Day” came in third, with a $9.4 million weekend and $40.7 million total gross after 10 days of exhibition.

Rounding out the ten most popular movies, as projected by the studios and collated by comScore analysts, were “Blade Runner 2049″ ($7.2 million), “Only The Brave” ($6 million), “The Foreigner” ($5.5 million), “It” ($3.5 million), “The Snowman” ($3.4 million), “American Made” ($3.2 million) and “Kingsman: The Golden Circle” ($3 million).
