Playboy Jazz Festival Presents Bill Cunlife and Johnny Crawford In Free Concert At Beverly Hills Civic Center Plaza
Grammy Award-winning pianist Bill Cunliffe and his Septet will perform along with vocalist and bandleader Johnny Crawford and His Orchestra when the Playboy Jazz Festival presents a free community concert May 2, at the Beverly Hills Civic Center Plaza from 3p.m. to 5 p.m..
Attracting nationwide attention for his innovative, swinging recordings and compositions, Cunliffe has toured with many jazz greats, including the Buddy Rich Big Band, Frank Sinatra, Joe Henderson, Ray Brown, Joshua Redman, James Moody, and more.
Crawford is an accomplished musician from a musical family, as well as an actor and former child star, having appeared in over 200 television shows, 15 movies, and 13 plays. Crawford now performs with his own vintage dance band featuring authentic orchestrations from the first half of the 20th century. He has garnered an enthusiastic following in Southern California for concerts, dances, private parties and provides authentic period music for film and special events.
The concert is the first in the Festival’s acclaimed series of free community events held in conjunction with the upcoming 32nd annual Playboy Jazz Festival, set for Saturday and Sunday, June 12 and 13 at the renowned Hollywood Bowl.
Food and refreshments will be available for purchase to the public. Glass containers, alcoholic beverages and audio/video recorders are not permitted.
Two free hours of parking are available at the Civic Center parking structure, adjacent to the Beverly Hills Public Library.
The Beverly Hills Civic Center Plaza is located at 450 North Rexford Drive, between Santa Monica Boulevard and Burton Way.
