Staples Center to Remain Home of the Grammy Awards
Staples Center will remain the home of the Grammy Awards for at least one more year, with The Recording Academy announcing today that the 55th annual ceremony will be held Feb. 10 in downtown Los Angeles.
Grammy nominations will again be announced during a prime-time televised concert event, scheduled for Dec. 5.
Both the nominations concert and the Grammy Awards ceremony will air on CBS.
The Grammy ceremony will be aired live on the East Coast, but tape- delayed on the West Coast.
CBS’ coverage of this year’s Grammy Awards averaged 39.9 million viewers, its second largest audience in history. Only the 1984 ceremony, when Michael Jackson, at the height of his popularity, won a record eight Grammys, averaged more, 51.67 million.
