FOX Sports home to two-dozen world-class soccer matches over October’s first two weeks

Fox Sports_LogoFOX Sports kicks-off a Soktoberfest this Tuesday with coverage of two-dozen highly-anticipated international matches over a 16-day period beginning Tuesday, Oct.1, with expanded soccer coverage of Match Day 2 of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa World Cup qualifiers and the decisive FIFA World Cup Qualifiers for England.

The UEFA Champions League features a high-profile matchup as the formidable duo of Lionel Messi and Neymar lead Spanish heavyweights Barcelona against Scottish champions Celtic FC, live on Tuesday, Oct. 1 (2:00 PM ET) on FOX Sports 1. The other two prominent fixtures include English sides Arsenal and Chelsea. The Gunners, currently first in the Barclays Premier League, battle Italy’s Napoli, live on FOX Soccer Plus (2:30 PM ET), while Jose Mourinho’s Blues look to bounce back from a shocking opening home loss to Basel, against Steaua Bucuresti, live on sister channel FOX Sports 2 (2:30 PM ET).

Simultaneously on FOX Sports Networks, AC Milan and controversial striker Mario Balotelli face Ajax at Amsterdam Arena.

The star-studded month showcases more top talent and teams with Wayne Rooney and Manchester United traveling to Ukraine to take on Shakhtar Donetsk, live on Wednesday, Oct. 2 (2:00 PM ET) on FOX Sports 1, followed by Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid hosting FC Kobenhavn from Denmark at the Santiago Bernabeu, live on FOX Soccer Plus (2:30 PM ET). Over on FOX Sports 2 (2:30 PM ET), defending German champions Bayern Munich showdown with Manchester City. The final live matchup of the day presents Juventus vs. Galatasaray on FOX Sports Networks (2:30 PM ET).

UEFA Europa League Match Day 2 follows on Thursday, Oct. 3 (11:30 AM ET) as Tottenham Hotspur play Russia’s FC Anji on FOX Sports 1. Shortly after, Swansea City continues to enjoy its European ride with its second matchup of the group stages against FC St. Gallen of Switzerland, live at 3:00 PM ET. Wigan Athletic, Fiorentina, Valencia and Olympique Lyonnais are all also in action live across FOX Sports 2 and FOX Soccer Plus. Thursday’s coverage includes a special whip-around bridge show with all the goals and top moments from the other 11 matches being played earlier in the day, live on FOX Sports 1 and simulcast on FOX Sports 2 (2:00 PM ET).

Rob Stone hosts pregame, halftime and postgame UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League coverage from Los Angeles in state-of-the-art Studio B at the Fox Network Center with analysts Eric Wynalda, Warren Barton and Brian McBride.

The massive matches of October resume with the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers as England still look to clinch a spot at next year’s tournament in Brazil. The Three Lions need to win both their games at Wembley Stadium against Montenegro and Poland, on Friday, Oct. 11 (3:00 PM ET) and Tuesday, Oct. 15 (3:00 PM ET), respectively. Plus, Wynalda and FOX Sports’ soccer insider Grant Wahl are set to be on-site in Kansas City for USA’s World Cup Qualifier against Jamaica on that Friday to deliver up-to-the-minute reports and news from on and off the field.

Stone once again hosts coverage for the two crucial qualifiers alongside Barton. On days with no pregame or postgame coverage, FOX Soccer Daily, is set to highlight all the action, live weekdays at 3:30 PM ET on FOX Sports 1 with host Julie Stewart-Binks alongside our rotation of analysts including Jones, McBride, Barton and Wynalda
