The City of Beverly Hills honored 29 years of dedicated volunteerism Thursday at the Annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner, held at the new Roxbury Park Community Center.
In attendance were Friends of the Library representatives, the City Councilmembers Dr. Willie Brien, John Mirisch and Nancy Krasne, Vice Mayor Dr. Julian Gold and Mayor Lili Bosse, Recreation and Parks Department Director Steve Zoet, Assistant Director Nancy Hunt-Coffey, Recreation Services Manager Teri Angel, City Manager Jeff Kolin, Assistant City Manager Mahdi Aluzri and Recreation and Parks Commission Chair Howard Rosoff and Commissioner Frances Bilak, Fine Arts Commission Chair Sandy Pressman and a host of grateful city representatives.
Volunteers provide the backbone of support in the City, at the Active Adult Club, the Beverly Hills Public Library, in the parks and throughout the City. The 188 individuals honored Thursday contributed over 40 hours of service each in 2013.
Special distinction was awarded to three volunteers whose contributions to the City represent 40 hours a year or more for ten consecutive years. The Volunteer Tenure Club Awards were given to Harold Kaye, Irene Schwartz and Esther Tabak for their extraordinary dedication to the City of Beverly Hills.
