When the US Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM) approached Beverly Hills High School honors history teacher Joanie Garratt about participating in its upcoming gala on Wednesday, she didn’t hesitate.

Last year, several of her students had volunteered for the gala and the experience had been truly rewarding. This year, in addition to serving as volunteers at the March 2 gala, the students are also featured in a film that ties into the Museum’s newest exhibit, “State of Deception:  Nazi Propaganda.”

Earlier this month, the Museum filmed Garratt teaching a lesson about Nazi Propaganda to the 21 students in her honors history class, all of whom will attend Wednesday’s gala.
