The City of Beverly Hills is sponsoring a community workshop to get feedback from residents and businesses on the future La Cienega Subway Station. The public is invited.
Cities throughout the region are planning strategic accommodations at subway stops to take advantage of the opportunities presented, and to provide efficient services for those boarding and departing the trains.
The Southeast area of the City has long been eyed for economic revival, a condition dictated by the lack of parking and shallow lots. The addition of a subway that can bring business to the area that does not require parking presents new opportunity. The station provides opportunities for land use and businesses to supply amenities and provide transportation opportunities to complete the destinations of travelers.
The subway station will be located at La Cienega and Wilshire Boulevards.
The City is asking the community to join in for the third community workshop to assist in creating a plan for Southeast Beverly Hills in the Robertson-La Cienega corridors and the future La Cienega Station.
The event is 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22 at the second-floor Beverly Hills Public Library Auditorium. Two-hour parking is free at the Civic Center parking structure located next to the library.
