Save the Date! October 6 at 5 p.m., Mayor John Mirisch is set to deliver the State of the City address at Greystone Mansion.
This annual event is widely anticipated as a moment when the City’s mayor can set forth not only the current state of affairs at the City, but a vision of the coming year and beyond.
This wonderful affair will include a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception prior to the formal address, as well as an interactive question & answer period following the Mayor’s remarks.
Mirisch has been very active already in promoting Autonomous Vehicles, or driverless- cars. He has appeared at forums around the country, even visiting a Chinese manufacturer on his recent visit.
It is also anticipated that he will address his opposition to the Hilton Initiative.
Mirisch has been extremely vocal in his opposition to the condominium development’s ballot initiative to erect a single 26-story building instead of two buildings of 8 and 18 stories.j
Alternatively, Mirisch has expressed unbridled support for the Wanda project, that would add yet another hotel to the City’s 27 hotels, rather than the two already approved residential units.
Mirisch is also expected to address the upcoming Santa Monica Boulevard Widening Project and the start of construction on Metro’s Purple Line Extension at La Cienega, and proposed traffic mitigations to keep traffic moving through the City and businesses open in the Business Triangle.
