The Peninsula Beverly Hills will play host to some of the most fashionable pups in Los Angeles next month at Canine Companions for Independence’s 5th annual HAUTE DOG runway fashion show.
The Irene Dunne Guild in partnership with the Saint John’s Health Center Foundation board of trustees, will co-host the 2016 Caritas Gala, Saturday, Oct. 22 at The Beverly Wilshire.
David Oyelowo and Lupita Nyong’O star in Mira Nair’s Queen of Katwe. They attended the premiere at the El Capitan Theatre, where premiere-goers discussed the excellent reviews from LA Times Kenneth Turan and Joseph Morgenstern of the Wall Street Journal.

This year’s Teen Advisory Committee (TAC) was introduced to the Recreation and Parks Commissioners at their meeting Tuesday. TAC encourages Beverly Hills students, grades 6-10 who are residents or enrolled in the Beverly Hills Unified School District, to take an active role in local government. TAC members meet monthly to share experiences, suggest solutions, work with City officials, and put on special events for their peers. The Friends of Greystone held its annual membership event last Sunday at the Doheny Greystone Estate. Members enjoyed the afternoon touring the 46,054 square foot historic Doheny Greystone mansion along with viewing captivating historical photos that shared the Doheny family’s life before and during their years at the estate. Beverly Hills’ Rubins family took their favorite reading material on vacation this week to Portovenere, Italy, where Zale Richard and Brenda Rubins are seen (pictured left) posing with the Courier outside of a cafe. Zale Richard and Brenda are local artists. Zale Richard is a former Beverly Hills Architectural Commissioner and Brenda formerly served on the Fine Arts Commission.
