Beverly Hills News – Chief Rabbi of Moscow to Speak on the Future of European Jews Thursday Evening

Will the Trump victory empower the radical right in Europe and the lives of the Jews of Europe?
Though he admits that Trump’s presidency may be good for Israel, Chief Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt of Moscow, president of the Conference of European Rabbis, thinks it will negatively impact the lives of minorities all over the world. He will be in Beverly Hills Thursday to discuss that impact.
Chief Rabbi Goldschmidt moved to Moscow in 1989 to become rabbi of the iconic Moscow Choral Synagogue and was appointed Chief Rabbi of Moscow in 1993. A graduate of both Johns Hopikns University and Near Israel Rabbinical College in Baltimore, in 2011 Rabbi Goldschmidt was elected President of the influenetial Conference of European Rabbis (CER), regularly consulted by national governments across Europe on matters relating to Jewish communities and Jewish observance, with representatives in Brussels who advise and lobby EU officials on matters of Jewish concern.
This will be Rabbi Goldschmidt’s sole public Los Angeles event, Dec. 1 at Young Israel of North Beverly Hills Synagogue, 9261 Alden Drive. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
