ADL’s Annual Gala At The Beverly Hilton Raises $1.1 Million

The Anti-Defamation League’s Pacific Southwest Region held its 2017 Annual Gala celebration at The Beverly Hilton and raised nearly $1.1 million to support its efforts in combating bigotry.

Three community leaders were honored at the gala for their professional and philanthropic endeavors:

• Leah Weil, who received the Jurisprudence Award, is senior executive VP/general counsel at Sony Pictures and a child of two Holocaust survivors.

• The husband-wife team of Joe and Sarah Kiani shared the Humanitarian Award. Inventor/philanthropist Joe Kiani is CEO/board chair of Masimo Corporation, a leading medical technology company, while Sarah Kiani is a boardmember of the Masimo Foundation for Ethics, Innovation and Competition in Healthcare, which focuses on improving patient care.

Stephen C. Jensen, Anthony J. Vinciquerra and Karen and Alan Weil served as honorary co-chairs of the gala which was emceed by comedian Wayne Federman.

Oscar-winning songwriter Alan Bergman treated the audience to a special musical performance.
