Higher Education Notes — Locals Graduate From University Of Wisconsin-Madison, Honored At Colgate University

Two students from Beverly Hills were among the nearly 7,500 students receiving degrees during the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s spring commencement ceremonies in May.

• David Neiman, a student in the College of Letters and Science, received a bachelor of science degree in computer sciences and mathematics.

• Yaniv Sadka, College of Engineering student, received a bachelor of science in biomedical engineering.

David Muir, anchor of ABC World News Tonight, was the commencement speaker.

Students who receive a term GPA of 3.3 or higher while completing at least three courses earn the spring 2018 Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence at Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y.

Beverly Hills students who earned the honor include:

• Alanna Richman, a graduate of Marlborough School and a member of the Colgate Class of 2020. Richman’s current major is political science.

• Simon Weisberg, a Harvard-Westlake School graduate and a member of the Colgate Class of 2021. Weisberg’s current major is economics.
