Daytime talk show queen Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi are no strangers to flipping houses, and they’re back at it again with a 5-bedroom, 4.5 bathroom home that just hit the market in Beverly Hills.
The Hollywood Regency style home in Trousdale Estates has hit the market for $17.95 million, according to Variety – a mere seven months after the pair bought it for $15 million.
The home, built in 1962 is steeped in Hollywood royalty – it once housed actress Marjorie Lord and her third husband, banker Henry Volk. The home, designed by acclaimed architect John Elgin Woolf, is 5,100 square feet, five bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms.
The Woolf-designed estate includes Pullman entry doors that lead to a circular foyer with an antique stone fireplace waiting to greet you upon entering. Each of the home’s en suite guest bedrooms opens up to a private courtyard or terrace, while the marble master bathroom allows access to a high-walled courtyard garden.
It’s just the latest flip attempt for DeGeneres and de Rossi – in 2018, they completed an off-market $35 million sale of a Beverly Hills mid-century home, three years after purchasing it for $16 million. In fall of 2017, they purchased a Montecito ranch from Oprah Winfrey for $7.2 million and flipped it a year later to Tinder founder Sean Rad for $11 million.
