The live-action version of Disney’s classic “Dumbo” soared over the competition at North American theaters over the weekend to debut in first place, according final figures released Monday.

The flying-elephant tale earned nearly $46 million between Friday and Sunday to lead the way, according to box-office tracker comScore.

That was good enough to push director Jordan Peele’s horror-thriller “Us” into second place with $33.2 million. “Us” has earned more than $127.8 million in its two weeks of release.

Another Disney production, “Captain Marvel,” took third place with $20.7 million, giving it a three-week haul of nearly $354 million.

“Unplanned,” the politically charged film about a Planned Parenthood worker, debuted in fourth place with $6.4 million, followed by the young- adult romance “Five Feet Apart,” which earned $6.2 million.

Rounding out the top 10 films of the weekend were “Wonder Park” ($5 million); “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” ($4.4 million); “Hotel Mumbai” ($3.2 million); “Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral” ($2.7 million); and “The Beach Bum” ($1.8 million).
