Southern California Grocery Union Inches Toward Strike

Southern California grocery workers are on the verge of their first strike in nearly 16 years, as the grocery workers union agreed this week to call for a work stoppage unless a new contract can be agreed upon.

The union includes workers from Ralphs, Pavilions, Vons and Albertsons.

Pavilions, Vons and Albertsons issued a joint statement this week saying they “remain committed to negotiating a contract that is fair to all parties.”
