Higher Education Notes—Local Students Graduate, Earn Academic Honors

Beverly Hills resident Robin Hedvat graduated from Duke University School of Law in May.

Hedvat received a Juris Doctor, Master of Laws degree.

Lauren Aviram of Beverly Hills was named to the spring 2019 dean’s list at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Penn.

Students with a term GPA of 3.50 or higher were recognized for the academic achievement.

Dakota Rosen of Beverly Hills received a bachelor of science degree in Commerce & Business Administration from The University of Alabama in May.

 UA awarded some 5,716 degrees during spring commencement.

Eric Brook was named to the dean’s list at Tufts University for the spring 2019 semester. 

Dean’s list honors at Tufts University require a semester GPA of 3.4 or greater.

Dahea Ham of Beverly Hills was named to Adelphi University’s fall 2018 dean’s list. Ham is majoring in biology.

The list comprises full-time students registered for 12 or more credits who have completed at least nine graded credits and achieved a GPA of 3.5 or above for the semester.

Jamie Kelleher of Beverly Hills graduated in May after majoring in anthropology at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine.

Kelleher is the child of Beth L. Kelleher of Beverly Hills and Timothy D. Kelleher of Seattle, Wash.

For students from Beverly Hills were among the more than 3,000 students receiving degrees in May from Tulane University in New Orleans. The ceremony’s keynote speaker was Apple CEO Tim Cook. Cook also received an honorary degree along with New York Times executive editor and New Orleans native Dean Baquet, Tony- and Emmy -winning actress Blythe Danner and civil rights activist U.S. Rep. John Lewis. 

Local graduates include:

Cameron Victor and Carina Merhi, who earned bachelor of arts degrees from the School of Liberal Arts.

Sydney Wolofsky, who earned a bachelor of science from the School of Science & Engineering.

Jessica Caren, who earned a bachelor of science in public health from the School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine.
