The California Preservation Foundation announced Thursday that the prestigious Preservation Design Award for Rehabilitation will be presented to the Beverly Gardens Park restoration project at the 36th annual California Preservation Awards on Oct. 18 at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins Hotel in San Francisco.
The jury selected 21 winners this year, including everything from single family home restorations to reports that will guide the infill and development for entire neighborhoods.
The 1.9-mile park includes 23 blocks of green belt, separating the residential area to the north of Santa Monica Boulevard from the business district to the south. It was designed by Ralph D. Cornell in 1911.
