Beverly Hills residents, businesses, and community leaders came together for the North Canon Mural Ribbon Cutting ceremony on Jan. 12. Among those in attendance were Mayor John Mirisch, Vice Mayor Lester Friedman, and Councilmembers Dr. Julian A. Gold, Lili Bosse and Robert Wunderlich. Mural artist Tomokazu Matsuyama was on hand to talk about his creative vision. “The idea behind this mural is really about diversity. In the U.S. or anywhere in the world, we talk about minorities, women empowerment, and all these things that collide to become ‘us.’ That is what I’m trying to convey with this mural,” Matsuyama explained.
